Our story

Taïga, or boreal forest, is one of the largest biomes on Earth. Covering 11% of the earth's surface, this forest represents one of the lungs of our planet and is, thereby, one of the largest natural pharmacies.

Medicinal plants always had a special place in the community. For ages, our ancestors used them to heal, prevent, support, fulfill and nourish their bodies and souls. It's when we give ourselves the time to cultivate these beneficent flowers and to go out to gather wild plants that it becomes possible to encounter all the power and knowledge of these. Using them on a daily basis in all their gentleness is wonderful, effective and grandiose.

Thereby, in 2019, after several years of traveling, sharing knowledge and learning, we decided to establish our roots in the district of Rimouski, near the St. Lawrence River and its fresh sea air. Following the discoveries of alternative medicine in different countries combined with the vital need of creation and personal studies in Canada and Europe, we decided to create our natural products company in winter 2021. Aiming the production of natural products based on simple and local ingredients, we bring together plants, roots and flowers grown without chemical additives and transform them with the greatest respect. Creating our own infused herbal oil before introducing them into various balms and ointments, we are making all our products by hand, with love and greatest care.

Taïga - la Pinède was born from a passion for nature combined with the art of taking care of yourself.

Our vision

Over the longer term, Taïga - la Pinède aims to develop an organic, ethical and simplistic market in connection with respect for nature, body and soul. The objective is to ally with local producers to introduce only ingredients and containers from Quebec. This outcome provides certainty of provenance and quality. It also reduces the ecological footprint of production and distribution by minimizing transport, delivery and packaging. Combining science with tradition, we want to encourage ecology, simplicity and local economy.

We are also harvesting some medicinal plants in the fields and in the forest far from human traces. Everything is then transformed into infused herbal oils, balm and ointments.

The Creative Head

Originally from a small village in Gaspésie, Joannie has always loved being near nature. It's between tasting wild plants and picking field flowers in her youth that she developed a real passion about the natural beauties of the forest.

Between learning different spheres of personal and professional study and exploring alternative medicine in various countries, Joannie has been able to perfect her creations to put a balm on her daily ailments.
